Curtis Smith
Curtis came to us from the world of unscripted, where he created and sold reality series for more than a decade. He now shares his experience in story development, marketing, and more.
Alicia Horton
A writer/director of her own original material, Alicia provides critical creative development on story for our scripts. Her coverage and taste sharpens our crop of characters and themes.
Tara Schoenborn
Tara supports our development team with dependable, top tier coverage and insight into the festival circuit, expertise she has gained as a contributor to the latter.
Our Story
The Following Films Productions was founded to tell original stories with emotional depth, grounded realism, and a strong point of view. Our films are character-centered and visually distinct, built around people confronting love, suffering, purpose, survival, and transformation.
Though our work spans multiple genres and tones, each project is rooted in the same artistic approach: naturalistic emotion, high-stakes human conflict, and storytelling that feels immediate and lived-in. We are interested in the collision between the intimate and the cinematic—stories that can be raw and personal while still carrying scale, intensity, and ambition.
As a company, we are committed to creating films that feel singular. We believe originality comes not only from concept, but from voice, execution, and emotional honesty. The aim is to build a body of work that not only fills theaters, but is bold, human, and unmistakably it’s own.
